Welcome to the Home Page of the New MilNet UK Mail Server.

As always we are interested in your feed back, please send it to jim@milnet.uk.net.
      Thanks

If you are using an email client such as Outlook Express, set your Incoming POP3 server to tmail.milnet.uk.net. If you are using the MilNet 0845 number to connect to the internet, then use tmail.milnet.uk.net as your Outgoing (SMTP) server. If you are using another ISP, then you MUST set your Outgoing SMTP Server to the one owned and operated by your ISP (They should supply you with its address), otherwise you will not be able to send mail, only receive it!

The new facilities are:

Anti Spam - Each subscriber has a "control panel" accessed via
their own individual web page from which they can set up their own individual
        settings.

Trusted Sites - Via their control panel, users can
set up a list of trusted web sites, and only graphics from these site
will be displayed in messages - no more offensive pictures!

Forwarding/Auto responder - Forward all emails to another email address
and/or an automatic response (eg a holiday message) to all incoming messages.

Friends - We think this is a winner. You have the option of setting
up a 'friends' list, so that you will receive only message from these
people. There are various ways that the server can 'learn' who your friends
        are.

Exception Rules - Also via the control panel rules like "If message
      is from <email address> send a copy to <email address2> etc

Virus Protection - all incoming emails are examined
for the presence of viruses, and if one is found, the message is deleted.

WebMail - a comprehensive web mail client so that you
can access your email from any internet connected computer.

Security - Access to the server for retrieving mail and your control
panel can be made using Secure
        Sockets Layer (SSL/https)
